The Certificate of Theological Studies is a great place to start for those looking to grow in their understanding of the Christian Faith and its theological foundation.  Students may work through both portions of the certificate of theological studies.  For more information on each certificate please see the program descriptions below.

Certificate in Theological Studies (Part I)

The Certificate in Theological Studies (Part I) provides the foundation for Christian Education and understanding.  This is a 15 credit hour program on the undergraduate level. The program consists of the following courses.

  • OTS101 – Old Testament Survey
  • NTS101 – New Testament Survey
  • PTH101 – Principles of Bible Study
  • PTH102 – Discipleship
  • NTS211 – Romans

Certificate in Theological Studies (Part II)

The Certificate in Theological Studies (Part II) provides the foundation for Christian Education and understanding.  This certificate is the follow up certificate program from Part 1.  Completion of both of these programs at the undergraduate level will count towards the foundational coursework of an undergraduate program. This is a 15 credit hour program on the undergraduate level. The program consists of the following courses.

  • HCH201 – Church History 1
  • HCH211 – Church History II
  • SYS222 – Christology
  • SYS323 – Ecclesiology
  • THE230 – Hermeneutics
